Thoughts and Suggestions on Further Enhancement of Shanghai's Unique Performance in Targeted Poverty Alleviation

【Abstract】

This issue of Key Reference publishes an article entitled Thoughts and Suggestions on Further Enhancement of Shanghai's Unique Performance in Targeted Poverty Alleviation. The article offers a number of suggestions for Shanghai to do a better job of targeted poverty alleviation. The article argues that Shanghai needs to address poverty reduction and education improvement by greatly enhancing the level of continuing education for targeted poverty alleviation. The key point of continuing education in supporting poverty-stricken areas is to be precisely aligned with Shanghai's current and future labor demand in such fields as logistics, information technology, and the aged pension, and to effectively stimulate sustained poverty relief; second, we should attach great importance to the role of social organizations in targeted poverty alleviation. Based on social organizations and the network platform, we should give full play to the leading role of social organizations in Shanghai in poverty alleviation across the country, and strive to become the forerunner and vanguard of the overall pattern of poverty alleviation in China. Third, we must strengthen the supervision of social organizations in participating in targeted poverty alleviation, and cultivate a group of qualified social workers and volunteers for poverty reduction.
