Sylvaine Castellano first watched the English advertising video of Shanghai Academy and learnt about the background, positioning, goals, and academic achievements of Shanghai Academy. Wen Xueguo introduced Shanghai Academy as a new-type think tank jointly established by CASS and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, noting that building a high-level platform for international exchanges is one of its major goals. Based in Shanghai and serving the nation, Shanghai Academy aims to build itself into a high-end think tank, a high-end talent training base, a high-end platform for international exchanges and cooperation, and a high-end national situation investigation base (“four high-end bases”). Shanghai Academy is willing to strengthen communication with overseas universities and organizations, in a bid to advance the cultural and academic exchanges between both sides.
